Related Research:
I am dedicated to promoting climate-resilient, sustainable, and inclusive cities. My research addresses regional inequalities and governance gaps by using science to manage natural hazards and climate change risks. I provide evidence-based data to inform urban and infrastructure planning from community to city-region scales. For vulnerable populations, I focus on low-income housing as well as community infrastructures and services. My work involves area-based, comprehensive risk assessments of cities, considering both climate and non-climate hazards. I provide complex data and integrated indexes to evaluate impacts on city areas, infrastructure, and vulnerable populations in low-income settlements, where living conditions are often inadequate. I translate my research into practice through participatory approaches, using social engagement tools and gamification to make complex scientific knowledge accessible. I emphasize the roles of female community leaders and integrate gender and climate sensitivity into urban planning. This ensures co-benefits between climate adaptation and inclusive urban development. Additionally, my research explores opportunities for climate adaptation and sustainable development. I address barriers such as political will, finances, and competing priorities by formulating actionable policies and investment strategies based on scientific evidence. My goal is to transform climate risks into opportunities for urban livelihood investment.
