BSc. (Science), BSc. (Nursing), Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education\n(PGDHE), RM, RN<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr\nShorey is an Assistant Professor at Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies,\nNational University of Singapore (NUS). Her research programme focuses on\nfamily and women health. Through her research, she aims to improve the health\nand well-being of families in particular, women. She has designed psychosocial\nand educational interventions for varied group of populations including new\nparents, women with gynaecological disorders, grand-parents and children with\nchronic conditions. She has conducted both quantitative (e.g. Randomized\ncontrolled trials, Descriptive quantitative studies) and qualitative (e.g.\nDescriptive qualitative) studies.&nbsp; Her\nresearch studies involve national and international collaborations. Dr Shorey\u2019s\nresearch focus is on enhancing health outcomes, quality of care and general\nwell-being of families. She strongly believes that healthy families will be\nable to contribute better to their communities which in turn will help build\nhealthy societies and strong nations.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr\nShorey has received various awards for her academic and research excellence. Of\nrecent, she has received the \u2018Outstanding woman in Medical Science\u2019 award by\nthe Venus International Foundation. She has been invited at various conferences\nand the findings of her research has been presented at national, regional and\ninternational conferences. She has published more than 80 papers in high impact\nfactor peer reviewed journals. Dr Shorey\u2019s research has been regularly\npublished in National Newspapers, and broadcasted via several Television (TV)\nand Radio Channels. For her past work for Singaporean parents, Dr Shorey is\nrecognized by the Ministry of Social and Family Health (MSF) in Singapore to\ncontribute her educational content to the Families for Life Portal. Dr Shorey\nis currently serving&nbsp;&nbsp; as an advisor for\nthe MSF to support Singaporean parents for their parenting needs in\nSingapore.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr\nShorey is an experienced and award-winning educator who believes in life-long\nlearning and student-centred approach in facilitating evidence-based students\u2019\nlearning. Dr Shorey is known among her peers and students as someone who\nconstantly innovates and enhances her teaching pedagogies by incorporating\nvaried educational theories. Dr Shorey has incorporated virtual reality and\nartificial intelligence in her teaching and she was awarded the Annual Teaching\nExcellence Award (Highest Teaching Accolade at NUS) and the Faculty Teaching\nExcellence Award in 2019. \n\nDr\nShorey serves as an editorial board member for the renowned international peer\nreviewed journals and she has served as a reviewer for more than 20 peer\nreviewed journals. Dr Shorey represented Singapore for the Southeast and East\nAsian Nursing Education and Research Network (SEANERN) and the Global Working\nGroup (GWG) on Salutogenesis. Recently, Dr Shorey has co-edited the Fatherhood\nbulletin with the Australian Fatherhood Network.&nbsp; Dr Shorey wishes to be a role model for young\nwomen scientists by making contributions in achieving sustainable goals of good\nhealth and well-being for the new parents, their children, and the society at\nlarge globally.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PhD.
