She\nwas also the former Director of UPSI Press. She also leads the Nanotechnology\nLab at her workplace. Her research is in the field of Nanomaterials,\nNanotechnology and Renewable focusing on the synthesis of carbon-based\nnanomaterials such as graphene and carbon nanotubes from bio-hydrocarbon and\nwaste precursors. Her research also investigates its potential application in\nnanoelectronics such as in field electron emission devices, electrode materials\nfor supercapasitor, dye-sensitized solar cell, membranes and adsorbent for\nwater treatment application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Suriani\u2019s research has resulted in 146 Scopus-indexed publications\n(Citation: 942 and H-index: 16). While in ISI (Web of Science)-indexed she has\n61 publications, 664 citation and H-index of 14 with publications cumulative\nimpact factor of more than 130. She has won many research awards at\ninternational and national levels, and the most significant awards were\nL&#8217;Or\u00e9al-UNESCO for Women in Science Fellowship 2013, MASS 2016 Young Researcher\nAward in Solid State Science and Technology by Malaysian Solid State Science\nand Technology Society (MASS), Malaysia Toray Science Foundation: Science\nEducation Award for 2017, 2013 and 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Suriani has received various research grants including from international, private and public sector such as from TWAS-COMSTECH Joint Research Grants, Kurita Water and Environment Foundation, Japan, L&#8217;Or\u00e9al-UNESCO for Women in Science Fellowships Grant, Malaysia Toray Science Foundation, Ministry of Education Malaysia, and Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment &amp; Climate Change Malaysia. She was also appointed as a reviewer for various renowned international publishers. This include as editorial board for international and national journals. In term of collaboration, she actively involves with international partners around the globe especially Asia and Europe. She is always invited as keynote and invited speaker around ASEAN nations. Her motto in research is \u2018To grow in science means making new discoveries that benefits mankind\u2019.
